Wyre Forest Gamers

Wargaming in the Kidderminster area for over 40 years

Wyre Forest Wargames Club is a small club dedicated to all forms of wargaming. Originally we were based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, although nowadays our members come from all over the surrounding area. We have members from all parts of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire. Including Bewdley, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Hereford, Ledbury, Stourport, Redditch, Worcester and Wolverhampton.

We meet once a month, the 3rd Sunday of the month normally, but occasionally there are two meetings in the same month. We meet at St. Ambrose Parish Hall, Leswell St., Kidderminster, WORCS, DY10 1RP. Our alternative venue is Holt Heath Village Hall, Holt, Worcestershire, WR6 6NE.

There will be no club meetings until the current Covid 19 restrictions are eased

What's New

  • IMPORTANT NOTICE - latest update on our proposed meetings for 2021.

UPDATE ON 1st January 2021 - the Government have now placed Worcestershire into Tier 3 of the regional Covid 19 restrictions. This means that it is not permitted to socialise indoors with anyone you do not live with or is not in your support bubble and, as a result, there will be no more club meetings for the foreseeable future. Members are requested to check regularly the group email for any revision of plans.

  • Recent additions to the After Action Reports section are the Battle of Hancock's Farm (an AWI game of Sharp Practice), the Battle of Edwards Farm (more colonial fun and games with Sharp Practice), the Battle of Herringhausen (a SYW game using Twilight of the Soldier Kings rules) and a large Napoleonic Sharp Practice game, Operation Spanish Beefsteak.

  • A new section has been added to the website as of January 2021. "Club Members' Pages" allows members of the club to add their own content for subjects in which they have a special interest - historical periods, specific conflicts, rules, figures, etc. Grateful thanks go to Stephen who has created the first contribution, a section on the Spanish Civil War which you can view here. If any members would like to add content of their own, please contact Neil W through the group email.

  • A warm welcome to new member Dora who has just joined the club. Dora has recently moved into the area and is a bit of a novice to wargaming. We all look forward to meeting her as soon as club meetings recommence. And further convivial greetings to two guys named Charles who have also joined the group. Both experienced gamers with extensive collections, we hope to see Charles S and Charles H at the club as soon as restrictions are lifted.

  • Ian has been busy hosting Zoom games during the Lockdown and has produced some excellent after-action reports. Operation Covid Isolation, Operation Barrage Bluff , Operation Third Try and Operation Panzer Grab can now be enjoyed by clicking the links or going to the After Action Reports page here.
